Amplifying the Power of Student Voice

Students across Washington state are officially back in school, and the League of Education Voters (LEV) Field Team has begun statewide group and individual interviews around our four main legislative platform issues: supporting student mental health, improving school climate and school climate data surveys, removing the special education enrollment funding cap, and ending isolation practices in schools.

The LEV Policy Team, along with Investing in Student Potential coalition (ISP) partners, is launching a new program, the Student Potential Youth Advisory Council (SPYAC). If you know a student with disabilities who would like to help make the education system better for every Washington student, they can apply to be part of SPYAC here.

And speaking of students, don't miss our free statewide 2022 Virtual Event on October 13 from 11:30 am - 1:00 pm spotlighting The Power of Student Voice. We have a great lineup of student leaders, you can meet 2023 Washington state Teacher of the Year Dana Miles, and we will present our 2023 Student Advocate awards. You can register here.
