Summer is here! Let's keep the momentum going

Now that the year is finished for every public school across Washington state, parents like me are wondering what to do with our kids over the summer. This time of year can be stressful for families, as kids need learning opportunities to minimize the impact of summer slide. League of Education Voters continues to advocate for high-quality out-of-school programs to keep our kids engaged and challenged.

Also, please save the date for our Seattle annual luncheon October 1st and our Spokane annual breakfast October 29th. See info below, as you read more about our work.

Finally, I would like to share a short message from our Board Chair, Betsy Johnson:

It is my honor to serve as Board Chair of League of Education Voters during our organization’s leadership transition. We know that it is pivotal for LEV to engage in a thoughtful CEO selection process and recognize that our new leader will play a critical role in our efforts to operationalize equity, diversity, inclusion, and access in every aspect of our work. Thus, we are developing a more cohesive, collaborative, and creative environment to drive continued growth. To support this approach, we have engaged an experienced search consultant and an interim CEO with expertise in organizational change, and our search committee includes both staff and volunteer leadership from diverse backgrounds. The CEO search process will launch in mid-July, and we anticipate interviews will begin in September with a new leader on board by mid-fall.

Best wishes,

We will share the CEO position profile with you in a special edition of our Education Advocate eNews and encourage you to share it with your networks.
