| Save the Date - The 2025 Youth Advocacy Summit is November 1st in Spokane Thank you for being part of the League of Education Voters (LEV) community! The Youth Advocacy Summit is an annual free event for youth, by youth, co-hosted by LEV, the Association of Washington Student Leaders (AWSL), and a team of youth partners from across the state. Learn from their experiences with school. See what issues they are passionate about. Listen to and honor their hopes for the future. Whether you are a young person yourself or another member of the community, we invite you to join us as we hear from students, families, and community members. Save the date! | Upcoming LEVinar: The Association of Washington School Principals’ School Leader Paradigm What makes a school or district leader successful? What leads to failed leadership? What contributes to the need for a leadership change? In our free webinar on Thursday, August 28, we will spotlight the School Leader Paradigm, co-developed by the Association of Washington School Principals (AWSP) along with other state principal associations, and already in use across the state and country. Learn how we can reduce the churn of leaders and create new systems built around professional growth versus evaluation. Also, a panel of school principals will share how they operationalize the leadership paradigm in their daily work. |

| LEVinar Recording: The Washington state Office of Equity The Office of Equity was created with Washington state’s RCW 43.06D in 2020. The office began its work in 2021, and as a new office within state government, many want to understand more about the work being done in the office and how it plans to impact Washingtonians. In this webinar, we learn about the Office of Equity’s work from its Communications Director, TraeAnna Holiday. She shares insights into their approach to executing that RCW, featuring examples that showcase the practical application of systems change work that the office is leading. We then explore these topics with a panel of students from the Association of Washington Student Leaders (AWSL) and answer your questions. Students discuss: - What they would consider ‘systems change’ work
- How they would like to gain access to state government
- How government can serve them better, and
- The issue they are most passionate about and possible solutions
